Hi! I’m Sara Baker

I’m a passionate pastry chef who loves a good challenge and believes that dessert should be both beautiful and meaningful. With more than a decade in the pastry world, I’ve found the perfect blend of my two favorite things, baking and artistry. Creating delicious, stunning cakes that help people celebrate their biggest moments is truly what lights me up.

My love for baking started in a small town near Roanoke, Virginia, where I learned from my grandmother’s patience, warmth, and well-loved recipe cards. After moving to Richmond in 2008, I followed that spark into culinary school and earned my Associate’s Degree in Pastry Arts in 2013.

Since then, I’ve poured my heart into perfecting my craft and bringing sweet ideas to life, especially custom cakes for weddings and events.

In 2020, I had the unexpected joy of competing on Food Network’s “Santa’s Baking Blizzard” an experience that stretched my creativity and reminded me just how much I adore this work.

Whether I’m designing a heartfelt wedding cake or whipping up something playful for a celebration, I pour intention, artistry, and a little bit of fun into everything I make. I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to create something wonderful for you.

Fun Facts:

  • I lived in Richmond, VA for twelve years and moved to Wilmington, NC with my husband, Michael, in 2020.

  • I loves all things vintage, kitschy décor, making wreaths, salt water fishing, cats, traveling, the great outdoors and Roadside America.

  • “Snack Time” was a nickname given to me while working in kitchen for my love of snacks.

  • The Mandalorian is one of my favorite shows.

  • My two favorite desserts are French Silk Pie and Tiramisu.

  • I love singing and listening to 50’s and 60’s music. And one of my favorite bands of all time is the Four Tops.
